Case Study: Theo Von’s Wild Ride Comes to Pyrmont Studio

When you’re on a world tour, time is tight, expectations are high, and quality can’t drop. That’s exactly why US comedian and podcasting giant Theo Von chose Pyrmont Studio as his Sydney base during his sold-out Australian tour.

In between arena shows, Theo recorded episodes of his globally popular podcast This Past Weekend right here at our studio including interviews with Aussie icons Celeste Barber and Nick Kyrgios.

What We Delivered

To replicate the high-production feel his audience is used to, we worked closely with Theo’s team to ensure the setup was seamless:

  • Podcast Room Setup:
Two of our armchairs were used for a relaxed, conversational feel. Behind them, our studio TV displayed Theo’s branding, giving the signature This Past Weekend look his fans know and love.

  • Production Support:
Our team provided on-site production support including large monitors, laptops, and live content sharing (articles, video clips, media queues, etc.) throughout the recording. A clock timer helped keep segments on track.

Broadcast-Quality Audio & Visuals:
Using our studio-grade microphones, cameras, and lighting, we matched the same quality standard seen on Theo’s U.S. episodes.

Why Pyrmont Studio Worked

The logistics mattered. With Theo performing just down the road at the ICC in Darling Harbour, our location was only 5 minutes away which made it easy for him to drop in, record, and head out without delay.

Plus, our space is:

  • Private – ideal for high-profile guests to enter and exit discreetly.

  • Soundproofed – ensuring clean recordings with no interruptions.

  • Central – easily accessible from Sydney’s key venues and accommodation.

Behind the Scenes

Theo was exactly as you'd expect  funny, kind, and completely down-to-earth. His team was professional and easy to work with. The vibe was light, the setup smooth, and the content  was just classic Theo, equal parts hilarious and heartfelt.

We loved being a small part of his Australian journey and can’t wait to welcome him back again.
